Sparklingstar stood on a rock with the wind ruffling her fur and her heart beating fast. She had left the camp with her deputy, to go hunting and had killed a pidgeon, which lay beside her. But that was only a cover-up. Sparklingstar was waiting, waiting for ShadowClan to attack ThunderClan. (OOC: Could you, Whiskers? We need to get the plot moving, and start really RPing) Than, FANG might get a chance to finish off that confounded ShadowClan deputy, and power would not be so far off. But more to the point, he might be able to get a "Thorn in his paw" and talk with her for a while. She missed him over when he was over in ShadowCLan.
Ratstripe dropped himself low into a hunter's crouch, and stalked forward, ready to strike. He raised a claw and jumped on the vole he was about to catch, when it escaped. Scampering furiously, Ratstripe dashed across the moor, trying to pin it down, when something caught his eye. It was a familiar shape--Wait! It was Sparklingstar, he guessed. He crept up on her and plopped himself down beside her, ready to strike a conversation. "How are things going, Sparklingstar? You're out hunting, I see. Catch much? I just missed a vole," the lean WindClan cat chirped. Sparklingstar seemed to be thinking about something...Ratstripe wondered what it could possibly be.
Sparklingstar whirled around, and let her face slide into a friendly expression. "Things are going very well," she said, "Thanks to all these great cats in WindClan. I can't believe it, I've only caught one pidgeon. Prey is tricky to find these days." She streched. "Though RiverClan has got it altogether to nicely, I've been thinking. We are going hungry, while they feast on the fruit of the land, and it doesn't seem right. But I guess it is a bit too early to ask for territory...what do you think?" Her tone was casual, but she was seriously wondering what his reply would be. It would give her a glance on how easy to convince these cats were.
Sparklingstar was right. RiverClan were lucky ducks (or cats, in this case). They got the best prey in the forest--all the fish they could ever eat! But WindClan were slowly going hungry. "Not now, but soon we should ask for territory. They'd gladly give us more if we were even hungrier. The more we wait, the hungrier we get, the plumper they get, and the more territory we can ask for. Right?" Ratstripe was not so sure that it was right, but it seemed sensible. There was nothing wrong with the plan.
Suddenly they saw the large form of Hiddensoul, evidently running from something. He spotted Sparklingstar and Ratstripe, and dashed over to them, a look of fright on his face.
((Ratstripe's a lot like Sparklingstar...only maybe more loyal...))
"What's wrong, Hiddensoul?" Ratstripe hissed. His whole pelt was erect and standing on end. If it was attackers, then after he fought them off, he could try to take over WindClan...but no. Those were slightly pessimistic thoughts. He would fight until the death for his Clan, just like any other WindClan cat. ...Right?
Hiddensoul stood there, trembling from head to tail-tip.
"Foxes!" he spat. "Five of them!"
Hiddensoul had only seen a fox once before, when he was an apprentice, and it had nearly killed him. It was only to be expected that he was terrified, and FIVE of them!
Fiercegaze sprinted over to them from the other side. Blood streamed from a cut on her nose, and the fur on her back was missing clumps. "And there's another over there. I'll go warn the rest of the Clan! Her eyes were wild with terror, but she realized this was not just about her.
Ratstripe's eyes opened wide. Foxes?! And there're more!"What should I do, Sparklingstar?" Ratstripe growled. He was scared of foxes, no doubt about it. His heart was pounding fast, and he could see that Hiddensoul and Fiercegaze were scared as well.
